OneNote Does Math
OneNote is one of the tools that I use all the time for all kinds of reasons. It is almost like my right arm; I can’t function without it! I like it because I can sync notebooks across all of my device or access from the web. This means my library of notes needs only an internet connection to access. With thousands of notes, the search feature helps me find what I am looking for, which is great since I don’t always structure my data in a consistent manner.
Here at the Microsoft Ignite conference in Atlanta, they announced a new feature in OneNote that will make Math teachers either excited or mad. This new feature allows users, students or teachers, to hand write an equation in OneNote; OneNote will then convert the writing to text. Sounds cool, but wait there is more. OneNote can then interpret the equation and ask if you want to solve for x (In the screenshot example here). Of course, it will solve for X or Y, your choice, and then if you want can also show you the steps required to solve the equation.
