Get Anti-Virus Software
As a public service, I wanted to post something useful to everyone.
There are dangers out there on the Internet and I can help. The first thing you should do is install or update your anti-virus program. I know plenty of friends on MySpace who don't keep the anti-virus up-to-date. You may wonder, "Why is it important to keep it up-to-date?"
Good question; I am glad you asked. You see every day new viruses are being built. If a new virus that came out this week attacked your system and you haven't updated it since last month, your computer will be toast. Fortunately, all the major anti-virus vendors have a setting for automatic updates. Basically, you don't have to do anything other than set it up.
Now many of you think you have updated your antivirus because it says it is running. Just because it is running does not mean it will catch any new viruses. Often, when you get a new computer, you get a free antivirus application that is a trial subscription that ends in 30-60-90 days. It may run after the specified days, but it will not have updated for new viruses. So, be careful.
Don't take your computer and stick it in strange places on the Internet without protection. Yes, anti-virus is like a condom for your computer! You don't want to be without it or with an old one.

Feel free to repost this message. I have heard something bad will happen to you if you don't, but I don't have any proof. ;-)
