Local Government Officials Guide to Cybersecurity (Oct 2022 Update)

Ron and I recently presented at the MISAC conference in Monterey and were thrilled to see that our session on involving governing bodies in local government cybersecurity and information technology governance was met with such a positive response. The room was packed with IT leaders in local government who were eager to learn more about the topic.

In fact, our session attracted the attention of a reporter from GovTech who wanted to interview us about our presentation. We were also pleasantly surprised when a vendor stood up during our presentation to express his appreciation for our work. As a council member for his own city, he confirmed that our presentation addressed an important need and expressed his gratitude for our efforts. He even looked forward to seeing the completed guide.

We were also approached by a number of MISAC members who offered to contribute to our project. This is great news since we were hoping to have a draft completed by the conference, but clearly need more time and assistance to achieve our goals.

If you are interested in helping us with this project, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are grateful for any and all contributions. Additionally, we plan to present an encore of our session online this December, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.
